had at least 25-30 applications to go through when I was looking to hire a second shooter! I wanted someone who would fit into my business like a brand new Sony camera.... someone who could learn from me but teach me things... and someone who would ultimately become a part of my 'brand'.... My brand... that meant someone who was genuine, who loved deeply, who was all-american and enjoyed the simple things....  
 
I narrowed down the applicants to five amazing candidates.... I met with each of them and all of them were amazing and offered something uniquely their own...... and then I met Jessie....  
 
When I got to the restaurant..... ten minutes early... She was already at the table eating chips and salsa... This meant two things.... she shows up early AND she isn't afraid to start eating without me! As soon as I sat down.. she asked me how Chase was... not in a nosey kind of way either. We ended up meeting soon after Chase got out of the hospital... so I was nervous to leave home without him.... and I think she knew that. She let me vent about Chase and she listened... chip after chip... hour after hour we talked!  
 
Realizing the time, I mentioned to her that I had a session that evening, and she offered to come... to carry my bags... to hold the reflector.... not expecting anything in return. As soon as we got to the location, she threw her shoes off, rolled her pants up and grabbed the reflector... I was impressed - but mostly that she was running around barefoot with what looked like high-water pants.... 
 
Come to find out -- Jessie is originally from Michigan.... and I, only for a second, felt bad that I had on an Ohio State sweatshirt.... good thing she isn't a die-hard Michigan fan... otherwise she may not have gotten the position! Kidddddding!!!!! 
 
Jessie and I have hung out a few times.... she eats salad like no one I've ever seen.... the lettuce is typically everywhere else other than in her mouth... and the fact that she'll think it's funny I just wrote that - is what makes me love her!!!!!  
 
She's genuine. She's the perfect fit for SEP. 
 
My 2012 brides are SO lucky to have her on board... as am I!!!!
