thought it was only fair to write an update on Chase... one more time! 
 
 
HE IS BACK HOME!!!! 
 
Chase has been the talk of the hospital, even the lunch ladies know about him and what he's gone through. Nurses, on their days off, were calling in to check on Chase. Nurses from the other end of the ICU were coming down to see the crazy 'patient' suctioning himself while intubated. Chase should technically still be intubated and in ICU at this point.... His surgeon has never seen a patient recover this well before. He's a walking miracle! When he would make laps around the ICU, nurses and doctors would literally stand to their feet and clap - they would scream 'Praise Jesus.... God bless you'!!!!! I will never forget it. 
 
Chase didn't really know the 'magnitude' of everything until a few days after his third surgery. We had ordered delivery and were having a romantic dinner at his bedside table (hehe)..... and I began telling him everything that he had gone through... that he had made it through SO much.. and that the nurses and doctors screaming in amazement, wasn't just a normal thing.... HE WAS STILL ALIVE and they were rejoicing! 
 
He told me that before each surgery he went in thinking about me... and he knew the surgeries had to go well, because he had so much to live for....he had me and our future to think about.... I mean really!?!?!? That is an incredible statement. I cried like a two year old.... snot, I'm sure, was running down my face. I think we even kissed. Sorry Chase! 
 
But now, now he's asleep on the couch.... and sometimes I'll look over at him and grin - because... he's still with me!!!! And by look over at him and grin, I mean more of a 5 minute stare that weirds him out a little.... -shrugs- 
 
So.... I can't jump on him just yet, or play fight with him..... but in three months from now - I might pinch his butt.... for an entire week straight! 
 
 
 
 
I made this very 'unprofessional' video of us... it includes clips/pictures from our wedding and even home videos of our date nights where we ride around on dirt roads!!!!
