didn't think that this session would be much different than any other session! I expected to get the 'look' when I began to suggest certain poses... like ring-around-the-rosey and piggy back rides.... I expected to hear 'mmm. I don't think we want to do that' when I suggested throwing hay into each other's hair!!!! I get used to people thinking my ideas are a little crazy.... but this session was different.  
 
This mom, daughter and best friend were there to enjoy 'the moment'.... With every silly 'pose' I suggested, they didn't just go through the motions -- they genuinely played ring around the rosey.... and spun in circles until they genuinely felt dizzy. They simply enjoyed 'the moment' verses trying to be perfect for the camera.... 
 
It got to me. 
 
It's how I wanted EVERY session to be.... I want my clients to truly enjoy each other - enjoy their time together. Of course, I've always felt that way -- but it's different now. I want my clients to live so deeply in that moment, that funny faces are acceptable and running around in circles until you fall is OKAY! I don't want my clients to stress out about outfits or if it's raining.... I want them to jump in the puddles barefoot.... and laugh! 
 
These three girls... have inspired me.....  
 
I sometimes get so caught up in wanting to live in the moment.. that I forget to actually do it.... but a few weeks ago, I asked Justin and Mary to head south and photograph my family.... All of us girls -- my Mom, Sister, Step Sister, and Grandma(s) gathered together the afternoon of the shoot and we all got our hair and makeup done!!! We spent hours laughing, reminiscing and poking fun at my Step Dad.... because he happened to be the only male there at the time..... We had an amazing day. 
 
After our pictures... (which were taken down the hunting paths behind my Mom's house) --- we headed back towards the house.... we hung out on the back patio and grilled out.... hotdogs and hamburgers!!!! We made a day of it!!!! And because life gets SO hectic..... it was amazing to have everyone together.... for no other reason than to be together..... having our pictures taken was just a bonus! 
 
I want everyone to be able to experience this.....this is me speaking from experience AND as someone who sees 'life' from behind the camera!
